Masahiko Maeda

Masahiko Maeda is Chief Executive Officer for the Asia region, Deputy Chief Executive Officer for the China region. Concurrently, he holds the position of President of Toyota Motor Asia (Thailand).

He graduated from Tohoku University with a master’s degree in engineering in March 1994 and joined Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) the following month.

In July 2016, he was appointed Chief Engineer of ZB, CVZ, and CV Company. By January 2018, Mr. Maeda had advanced to Managing Officer and President of the Emerging-Market Compact Car Company. In January 2019, he was promoted to Operating Officer, taking on the roles of Deputy Chief Executive Officer for the China and Asia regions, as well as Chairman and President of Toyota Daihatsu Engineering & Manufacturing and Chairman of Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia. In April 2020, he became Chief Technology Officer and President of the Vehicle Development Center.

In January 2021, he was named Chief Officer of the Toyota ZEV Factory, followed by his appointment as Executive Vice President in April 2022.

In April 2023, he was appointed Chief Executive Officer for the Asia Region and Deputy Chief Executive Officer for the China Region, while also serving as Vice Chairman of Toyota Daihatsu Engineering & Manufacturing Co., Ltd. (TDEM).

Following the company’s name change in June 2024 from Toyota Daihatsu Engineering & Manufacturing Co., Ltd. to Toyota Motor Asia (Thailand) Co., Ltd., he now serves as Chairman and President of Toyota Motor Asia (Thailand).
