Sihasak Phuangketkeow

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand

H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow is one of Thailand’s most distinguished career diplomats, with over four decades of experience. He currently serves as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand, having assumed office on 6 April 2026.

He previously served as Minister of Foreign Affairs between October 2025 - April 2026. Prior to that, he held multiple key positions in the Ministry, including Vice Minister, Permanent Secretary, and ambassador to France and Japan. He was also Permanent Representative of Thailand to the UN in Geneva, where he was elected President of the UN Human Rights Council from 2010 - 2011.

A key architect of ASEAN institutions, he later held advisory and academic roles after retiring in 2018. Born in 1957, he holds degrees from Chulalongkorn University and Johns Hopkins University, and remains actively engaged in public service.
