Huub is an independent advisor on offshore wind power. Educated as an astrophysicist, with an early career as a geophysicist and a lifelong passion as a naturalist, his personal life spans the UK and the Netherlands. A former managing director at The Crown Estate and Shell, he led the delivery of the first offshore windfarms in the UK and the Netherlands. He holds several non-executive positions including at the Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult, Celtic Sea Power in Cornwall, World Bank’s ESMAP team, and Ocean Energy Pathway, working at the interface of public and private sector. In recognition of his contributions to renewable energy and marine conservation he was awarded an honorary CBE by King Charles III.
