Akito Tanaka is a News Editor for Nikkei Asia and a member of the Editorial Board. Tanaka has twenty years of reporting experience and has also been covering global companies in both Japan and the United States. From 2021 to 2024, he served as a senior staff writer for Nikkei and Nikkei Asia's Chief business news correspondent, covering the technology sector from Singapore. Tanaka graduated from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, with BA in political science. He spent his childhood years in Lisbon, Portugal, attending the American International School.
