Hiroyuki Kurahashi is the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Japan Australia LNG (MIMI) Pty Ltd since 2021.
MIMI is a 50-50 joint venture between Mitsubishi Corporation and Mitsui & Co., Ltd. MIMI has worked in Australia since 1985 through a one-sixth equity interest in the North West Shelf Venture, which was the first liquified natural gas (LNG) project in Australia. MIMI also participates in the Browse Project since 2012 and in the Angel Carbon Capture and Storage Project since 2022.
Hiroyuki joined Mitsui & Co., Ltd. in 1993 and has since held various managerial positions within the company, demonstrating expertise in LNG project development and gas trading for the past 32 years. These positions include General Manager of the LNG Business Development Division, Deputy General Manager of the Global Gas Trading Division, and General Manager of the Gas Business Development Division. He graduated from the Law Faculty of the University of Tokyo in 1993.
