I am currently a news editor and head of the International News Center. As a political reporter, I have covered 16 prime ministers, from Morihiro Hosokawa to Shigeru Ishiba, and have also covered economic ministries such as the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, and the Financial Services Agency. From April 2012 to March 2017, I served as a Washington correspondent, reporting on the U.S. presidential elections in 2012 and 2016 from the field. From April 2020 to March 2023, I was the head of the political department. From April 2023 to March 2024, I was the head of the policy reporting unit.
