Yasuhiro Odagane

Managing Director, Sumitomo Forestry Australia

Yasuhiro Odagane commenced his career at Sumitomo Forestry in 2004 within the Timber and Building Materials Division, where he was involved in trading logs and lumber products. From 2007 to 2012, he was stationed in Vancouver, Canada, responsible for overseeing log and lumber procurement and exports to Japan and other Asian countries.

In 2016, he transitioned to the Overseas Housing and Real Estate Division, managing North American housing operations. In 2017, he relocated to Salt Lake City, Utah, serving as a director at Edge Homes, an affiliate housing company of Sumitomo Forestry. Upon returning to Japan in 2022, he assumed the role of Group Manager for North American Housing Operations, supervising all housing activities in that region.

In January 2024, he was appointed Managing Director of Sumitomo Forestry Australia Pty Ltd in Melbourne, where he oversees the company's Australian operations. He played a pivotal role in the acquisition of Metricon in 2024 and remains committed to fostering further business growth.
