Takahashi is a Senior Producer and Journalist at Nikkei Inc., specializing in international affairs, geopolitics, and global market news. With extensive experience in both editorial leadership and content production, she has played a key role in shaping Nikkei’s international coverage across digital and broadcast platforms.
At Nikkei, Kaori launched and produced a weekly video commentary series on international affairs for Nikkei’s digital edition, expanding audience engagement through clear, in-depth analysis of global political and economic developments.
From 2013–2018, she served as Nikkei’s first female Sydney Bureau Chief, where she led coverage of Australian politics, global resources, and international trade across the Pacific and East Asia, reporting on the region at a time of deepening economic and strategic interdependence.
In 2024, Takahashi launched the Nikkei Forum Australia—now known as the Nikkei Asia Forum Australia—as a flagship platform to promote mutual understanding and business engagement between Japan and Australia.
The forum debuted in Sydney and has since been held annually in Melbourne.
In 2026, marking the 50th anniversary of the Basic Treaty of Friendship and Co-operation between Australia, the forum will be hosted in both Perth and Sydney, reflecting its expanded role in bilateral economic and strategic dialogue.
Takahashi is a graduate of the Tokyo University of Foreign Studies and studied at St Anne’s College, University of Oxford. She completed the Women’s Leadership Development Programme at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, in 2025, and undertook advanced studies in Corporate Finance at Keio University Marunouchi City Campus (MCC) (January–March 2026).
