Nic Fildes is the Australia and Pacific Correspondent for the Financial Times. He is based in Sydney and has been in the role since 2022 when he returned to his native Australia from London where he had spent more than two decades in business journalism.
He has a wide remit stretching across the Indo Pacific covering geopolitics, corporate and economic coverage, trade, agriculture and some general news.
He has covered the telecoms, media and technology sectors for newspapers including the Financial Times, The Times, The Independent and Dow Jones Newswires/Wall Street Journal Europe and has also written for The Daily Telegraph, The Daily Express and The Spectator.
