Akito Tanaka is the Editor-in-Chief for Nikkei Asia and a member of the Editorial Board for Nikkei. Tanaka has over twenty years of experience in reporting and has covered global companies in both Asia and the United States. From 2021 to 2024, he served as a senior staff writer for Nikkei and as Chief Business News Correspondent for Nikkei Asia, covering Asia's technology sector from Singapore. Tanaka graduated from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, with a Bachelor of Arts in political science. He spent his childhood years in Portugal, attending the American International School of Lisbon.
