Anthony Aspden

Anthony Aspden is Assistant Secretary, Economic Security Branch, Trade Law and Economic Security Division, Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

Anthony has served overseas in Beijing, Guangzhou, Moscow, Honiara, and Seoul. His policy roles in Canberra have included working on China, Southeast Asia, and the WTO, as well as a lead negotiator on Australia’s free trade agreements with China, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, and Chile.

Anthony holds a Master of International Law from the Australian National University in Canberra, a Graduate Certificate in Public Administration from the University of Canberra, and a Bachelor of Arts with First Class Honours in Politics from Murdoch University in Perth.
