Mr. Nishiuchi currently serves as Director for International Financial Center at the Financial Services Agency of Japan (JFSA), where he leads efforts to promote Japan as a global financial hub. He joined the JFSA in 2004, and over the course of his career, he has held a wide range of responsibilities, including legislative development in the planning division, negotiation of international regulatory frameworks in the international division, and supervision of financial institutions in the supervisory division. In 2021, he led the development of Social Bond Guidelines. From 2022 to 2024, he was seconded to the Bank of England and the Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA). From 2024 to 2026, he served at the Cabinet Secretariat, where he supported financial institutions engaged in regional revitalization initiatives. Since August 2026, he has been serving in his current role. He holds a Master's degree in Public Policy from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts from the University of Tokyo. He is also a CFA charterholder.
