Managing Director for Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific Islands, JETRO

Takayuki Watanabe was appointed Managing Director for Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific Islands at the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) in July 2023. In this role, he leads JETRO’s activities across the region, supporting Japanese companies in expanding their businesses and promoting greater trade, investment, and innovation collaboration between Japan and Australia. He also works closely with government agencies, corporates, startups, investors, and other ecosystem partners to strengthen economic ties and create new business opportunities between Japan and the region.
