Yuka Koshino

Yuka Koshino is a Tokyo-based practitioner and researcher in defense innovation and dual-use technology cooperation across the Indo-Pacific region. Currently, she serves as a Partner at Ferocity Capital, a Palo Alto-based early-stage venture capital firm investing in cybersecurity and deep science startups with dual-use applications. Previously, she conducted policy research at two of the world’s foremost security think tanks—the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) in London and the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) in Washington, DC. She has co-authored and edited several books, including Japan’s Effectiveness as a Geo-Economic Actor (2022). She holds an MA in Asian Studies from Georgetown University’s Walsh School of Foreign Service and a BA in Law (political science) from Keio University.
