●Handling of Personal Information
Nikkei collects personal information on the application form such as name, email address, company/organization, department name, occupation, position, profession, industry, age, gender, and country/region of residence.
- Nikkei will use your personal information for the managing, contacting and sending necessary materials related to the event.
- Nikkei will also use the information conducting research or a survey on topics such as your satisfaction regarding the events of, hosted by or related to Nikkei or Nikkei group companies (listed on https://www.nikkei.co.jp/nikkeiinfo/en/corporate/group/. The same applies hereinafter).
- Nikkei will use your personal information for providing information on exhibition, events, seminars, media, campaigns and other services of, hosted by or related to Nikkei and Nikkei group companies.
However, Nikkei will not use a method that is likely to foment or prompt unlawful or unjust acts. Nikkei will comply with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information and other applicable Japanese laws/regulations and handle your personal information with due care. Nikkei will provide your personal information to a third party only when we have a lawful basis for doing so.
Nikkei will provide personal information to:
- Third-party service provider to facilitate and manage the event or to provide specific services you have requested. They can only use your personal information under Nikkei’s instruction.
When we provide your personal information to a third party in a country or jurisdiction outside of Japan as stipulated above, we will do so after obtaining your consent providing you with general information on the personal information protection system in the country or jurisdiction, excluding the following cases:
- In case Japanese laws and regulations approve that the country or jurisdiction has a personal information protection system equivalent to that of Japan; or
- In case the third party has a system for taking continuous action equivalent to the obligation of a Japanese business operator handling personal information. In the second case above, Nikkei will take proper measure for securing the continuous equivalent action of the third party.
