SCG is one of Thailand’s most recognised industrial conglomerates. Established in 1913, the group commenced as the first cement manufacturer in Thailand, which ever since has helped construct the country’s foundation for future developments. SCG has continuously evolved with the changes in global business environment, and is today comprised of five strategic business units: Chemicals, Paper, Cement, Building Materials, and Distribution.

Mr. Kan Trakulhoon joined SCG in 1977 and has held various management positions in the company’s key strategic business units, namely: Chemicals, Cement, and Ceramics. Before being nominated President and CEO of SCG in January 2006, he had been Executive Vice President and CFO of SCG in 2003, and President of the Ceramics Business Unit in 1999.

Kan graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (First Class Honor) from Chulalongkorn University in 1977 and two Master’s Degrees, M.S. Engineering and M.S. Management, from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1986.
