Main Theme

Managing beyond the upheaval

The world is witnessing a new period of upheaval dominated by the global turmoil caused by the US-China trade war and the unrest in Europe, including the Brexit issue. Amid this growing sense of global economic slowdown, the environment surrounding corporate management is becoming increasingly volatile. The digital revolution, employing artificial intelligence (AI) and big data, is radically transforming conventional thinking and practice, such as ownership of assets and payments with currencies, creating an imminent need to reconsider business models of every single industry.

Yet the current maelstrom overwhelming societies and individuals is also creating opportunities in multiple areas. The rapid evolution of AI allows people to focus on higher value-added work; the shrinking population is driving individuals to seek extended healthy life and to keep refining personal knowledge and abilities. In this respect, anything can be potentially transformed into new business opportunities for companies.

The speakers at the Nikkei Global Management Forum are all business leaders who have taken advantage of upheavals. This year, we set up a wider variety of panel discussions and global leaders will be invited to openly discuss and exchange their opinions. We will be thereby offering participants a rare opportunity to witness and experience serendipities that would otherwise never happen by bringing together top executives from diverse industries and fields.

We sincerely look forward to your participation.

Benefits of attending the Forum

The Nikkei Global Management Forum brings together some of the world’s most successful business executives to discuss management philosophies, corporate strategies, and the latest global trends in management.

Immerse yourself in two days of inspiring presentations and discussions by global business leaders

It is an opportunity to listen directly to talks by the world’s most accomplished business executives. In this two-day event, you will find yourself deeply engrossed in listening to stimulating speeches by over 10 world-renowned business leaders from home and abroad about their views on work, management philosophies, and leadership.
“How can we make innovation happen in this rapidly changing business landscape and shape a great future with our own hands?” Be inspired by each speaker’s talk on the power of innovation.

Corporate strategy case studies that reflect the latest management trends

What strategy is right for your business in light of the latest technology trends such as AI, IoT, blockchain, and autonomous driving, or the trend of anti-globalization and protectionism? You will learn the latest trends in management through case studies illustrating successful corporate strategies implemented by the speakers.

Experienced journalists from Nikkei and FT as well as professors from HBS and IMD will draw out what the business executives actually did and thought in real-life situations

Senior business correspondents and professors at prestigious business schools will moderate the presentations to draw out the most intriguing and valuable stories from well-known business leaders, ranging from their lesser-known anecdotes and philosophy of life to management know-how and real business strategies. Don’t miss the remarks and questions from these skilled moderators, or ‘professional listeners,’ which make the presentations livelier.

An opportunity to develop yourself or to train your successors and future leaders

The Nikkei Global Management Forum can serve as an opportunity to improve your own management or leadership skills as well as a training session for your successors and executive candidates.
