The NIKKEI FORUM AUSTRALIA 2025 took place in Melbourne, a key hub for Japanese companies operating in Australia and the center of the Japan-Australia Business Alliance, with a strong emphasis on the Asia-Pacific region. The forum was perfectly timed, coming right after the Australian government announced the adoption of Japan's "Mogami" class frigate for its next fleet, highlighting the growing interest in strengthening the quasi-alliance between the two nations.

This day-long forum was led by journalists from Nikkei and Nikkei Asia, alongside experts in various fields, and brought together senior business leaders, policymakers, and government officials. The aim was to share insights, explore strategies, and discuss the future of Japan-Australia business and its key priorities. Through exclusive CEO interviews, interactive panel discussions, and networking sessions, the event offered a practical pathway toward a competitive and sustainable alliance, positioning Japan and Australia to lead amidst increasing global uncertainty and geopolitical risk.

Additionally, the event set the stage for lively discussions and networking, serving as an ideal prelude to the JABCC-AJBCC Joint Conference in Perth in October. It also played a significant role in exploring a new era of friendship and cooperation as we approach 2026, which marks the 50th anniversary of the signing of the Basic Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation between Japan and Australia.
